KANSAS CITY, Mo. ? Mount Mercy won two of three games last week and maintained the 15th spot in this week?s NAIA Division II Women?s Basketball Coaches? Top 25 Poll, released last night by the national office.
The Mustangs (17-7, 9-3 MCC) started off last week with a 65-61 home loss to then-10th-ranked Grand View, but rebounded for road wins at Clarke (86-68) and William Penn (55-49). Mount Mercy remained at No. 15 in this week?s poll with 193 points. That?s one point ahead of 16th-ranked St. Thomas (Fla.) and 13 back of 14th-ranked Southwestern (Kan.).
Indiana Wesleyan (22-2) and Davenport (Mich.) shared the top spot this week with 363 points. Concordia (Neb.) (22-2) is third, followed by College of the Ozarks (Mo.) (19-3) and Morningside (18-6). Rounding out the top 10 is Concordia (Mich.) (20-4), Northwestern (17-5), Eastern Oregon (19-4), Grand View (19-5) and Briar Cliff (19-5).
Mount Mercy has a Midwest Collegiate Conference contest at Ashford on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Kehl Arena in Clinton before returning home to face Waldorf on Think Pink Day on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Hennessey Recreation Center.
